The IAA Experience is the interactive format of IAA MOBILITY. Here, professional visitors at the Summit and the general public in the Open Space can personally test and experience what climate-neutral mobility of the future feels like.

From e-bikes to autonomous vehicles, from driver assistance systems to charging infrastructure—various participation options allow exhibitors to present vehicles, technologies, and concepts live and up close.

What to Expect

During IAA MOBILITY, professional visitors at the Summit and private visitors in the Open Space have the opportunity to test a wide range of vehicles from different manufacturers. A departure point at the Summit and multiple departure points in the Open Space invite visitors to take individual, guided test drives. The locations of participating exhibitors and available vehicle models can be found in our official IAA MOBILITY app.

For professional visitors at the trade fair center Messe München:
The departure terminal for the IAA Summit is located between the ICM and the West Parking Garage. Here, visitors can experience the latest car innovations from various exhibitors through test drives.

For private visitors in downtown Munich:
During IAA MOBILITY, private visitors have the opportunity to test various vehicles for free in downtown Munich. Participating vehicle manufacturers are located at different sites within the IAA Open Space, where visitors can start their individual test drives.

Experience your ADAS and telematics systems in action. Register at the booths of participating exhibitors at the Summit and embark on a guided drive on public roads, departing directly from exclusive departure points near the exhibition halls.

To travel for free within the IAA Open Space, the latest zero-emission buses are available. These buses depart from various points in the Open Space and connect key event areas along their route. For more information on participating exhibitors, schedules, and routes, please refer to the official IAA MOBILITY app.

You can find participating manufacturers at various locations within the Open Space. There, you can borrow the latest industry innovations for free and test them on a 4-kilometer circuit in the English Garden. A visualization of the route is available in our official IAA MOBILITY app.

Test the latest bicycle innovations for free on our new, diverse course elements in the Open Space, including a gravel section, a speed bump element, and a module with inclines and declines. You can find participating manufacturers at various locations within the Open Space. The exact location of the course is available in our official IAA MOBILITY app.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The IAA Experience is the interactive format of IAA MOBILITY 2025. At the beginning of September, exhibitors will once again offer visitors the opportunity to test a wide range of mobility solutions—from bicycles and micromobility to cars. The clear focus is on experiencing climate-neutral and future-oriented mobility. Cars can be driven both in the city and on the highway, while micromobility options such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and cargo bikes can be tested in the Open Space.

IAA MOBILITY 2025 will offer a wide range of test opportunities. Emission-free cars will be available for test drives at multiple departure points in the Open Space, as well as at one departure point at the Summit.

ADAS and telematics systems can be tested at the Summit. Interested visitors can register at the booth of a participating exhibitor. The departure points are located in the loading yards.

On the Cycling & Micromobility Course (Cycling Activation Area in the Open Space), visitors can test bicycles, e-bikes, cargo bikes, and scooters under real road conditions.

The Cycling Test Track in the English Garden (Open Space) allows visitors to try out bicycles and e-bikes that do not require a license plate. The bikes are available at the booths of participating exhibitors along northern Ludwigstraße.

The bus shuttle enables IAA visitors to experience the latest bus innovations as passengers. Several stops within the Open Space connect the different event locations.

All test opportunities are organized by the participating exhibitors. More information can be found here on the IAA MOBILITY website, and details on registered exhibitors and participating vehicles are available in our official IAA MOBILITY app under “IAA Experience.”

Test drives (car test rides) can be reserved in advance through the booking tools of participating exhibitors, if available. Visitors can find the link to each booking tool in the individual vehicle entry within the IAA MOBILITY app. Additionally, visitors can also sign up for test drives on-site at the designated departure points.

For the Cycling Test Track in the English Garden, visitors can borrow their preferred bicycle or e-bike from exhibitor booths in the Open Space and head directly to the test track.

For the Cycling & Micromobility Course, visitors can borrow their preferred bicycle, e-bike, cargo bike, or scooter from exhibitor booths in the Open Space and then proceed to the registration container at the course to sign up for a ride.

No registration is required for the bus shuttle. Visitors can board for free at the designated stops and enjoy the ride.
